Rye Westchester FHC

Fieldhockey since 1928

…one of the oldest male field hockey clubs in the Northeast and a proud part of the history of this great sport in America. Our team is made up of players from many different nationalities, including Cuban, Dutch, British, Indian, German, and more. We celebrate the diversity that each player brings to our club and are committed to fostering a positive, inclusive environment where everyone can grow and succeed.

Rye Westchester FHC has a long and storied history in the sport of field hockey. Men in the United States officially began playing the sport in 1928, with the first official match taking place between our very own Westchester Field Hockey Club (of Rye, New York) and the Germantown Cricket Club of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Field Hockey Association of America was also formed in 1928, and five years later, the FHAA merged with the United States Field Hockey Association to form the sport’s official governing body, the USA Field Hockey Association, after urging from the Olympic committee.

Our team has a proven track record of fostering homegrown talent and creating professional athletes. Some of our teammates are former Olympians, and we are always on the lookout for good field hockey players who share our passion for the game and are dedicated to improving their skills. While we strive for excellence on the field, we also recognize the importance of sportsmanship and creating a positive team culture.
